The Five Rivers Conservation Trust, in collaboration with the Gilmanton Land Trust and with funding assistance from a grant, permanently conserved four properties totaling 85 acres in the town of Gilmanton, securing the protection of significant agricultural lands and extraordinary views of the Belknap Mountains, Loon and Meetinghouse Ponds, and Mt. Kearsarge.

A grant was awarded to the town of Gilmanton to restore historic Gilmanton Cemetary maps and to conserve and microfilm 12 early 20th century town maps.

Reducing Non-point Sources to Hunkins Pond from the Swain Farm, Sanbornton, NH

Granting Agency: NH State Conservation Committee

A grant was awarded to the Belknap County Conservation District to fund improvements to manage the Swain Dairy Farm’s manure and stormwater runoff. Following Best Management Practices, the project has reduced the nutrient flow, improving the water quality in nearby Hunkins Pond.

Public Library Stained Glass Window Restoration, Laconia, NH

A grant was used to restore 10 stained glass windows in the Periodical Room of  the Laconia Public Library. (This most recent award is the 3rd grant they  have received for this phased project.)
