Roadside planting by NH DOT thanks to Moose Plate funding

Department of Transportation

DOT

New Hampshire Moose Plate funds benefit the Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Highway Design, specifically the Statewide Lilac and Native Wildflower Program. Sites throughout the state are used to inform and educate the public about lilac planting, care and identification. Funds are also used to enhance New Hampshire’s roadsides by establishing and maintaining Native Wildflowers. These projects create more beautiful roadsides and foster positive attitudes toward the State of New Hampshire and the Department of Transportation.

Sample Projects

  • Lilac sites have been planted in Antrim, Chesterfield, Hampton, Haverhill, Hooksett, Keene, Manchester, Nashua (2 sites), Seabrook, Walpole and Woodsville.
  • Native Wildflower sites have been planted in Hopkinton, Concord, Keene, Manchester, Portsmouth and Ossipee.
