Re-Patination of Parson Main Statue in Rochester, NH
In 2011 Rochester Main Street received a $10,000 grant for the re-patination of the statue of Parson Main, which is located in Central Square in downtown Rochester.
Parson Main was the first permanent minister in Rochester. The statue is listed as a “contributing object” in the Rochester National Register Historic District. Inspired by a Moose Plate grant, Rochester Main Street volunteers raised additional money and worked to restore the fence, granite steps and landscaping surrounding the statue.
